BELSTAFF AW16 at London Collections Men
The invitation for the BELSTAFF AW16 presentation on Sunday 10th January lead me into a tunnel at Southwark’s Ewer Street. Hot male models were posing like they were somewhere in the Alps. Half were preparing for climbing up, dressed in furry hooded costumes, with backpacks and sleeping bags. Others were resting in leather jackets, striped pullovers, vests in military patterns and trousers with many details.
All the decoration of the tunnel was just amazing like we were on the peak in the mountains – snow, covering big rocks, black stones on the floor like we were just climbing. It wasn’t for high heeled boots /as some of the ladies in the audience were wearing/ and it shouldn’t be: it is men’s collection and men don’t usually walk on hills J plus it is a winter collection and it is all for boots.
An open bar was warming the audience with nice cocktails, served with a lot of ice as was the theme of the collection. My favourite was ‘Blue Steel’ made with Ciroc vodka. As a menswear ambassador Dermont O’Leary was attending the BELSTAFF presentation and he was giving interviews. In the audience we saw male fashion model Oliver Cheshire and presenter Stefanie Jones.
Amazing and surprising presentation as always. We saw not motorbikes but snow bikes this time as Belstaff present their AW 16 men’s collection. Bomber jackets with fur were what I liked. And the BOOTS! Very snowy, very wintery, very pleasant design.
