Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, at London Fashion Week

I am thrilled to tell you my story of meeting Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, during London Fashion Week.

It was in the afternoon on 19th February, the last day of the Fashion week, everyone is tired. I was aiming to go to a fashion show but unfortunately due to the smaller venue and a very late request, I didn’t get an invitation. All fashionistas were queueing outside so I decided to browse for something exclusive at designer’s showrooms while it was quiet.

My readers and friends asked me many times how the fashion week venue looks inside and why it is so protected and secured to go in. I started filming and this is something that I will post as soon as I finish editing. While filming, just right on the corner I jumped on a lady, followed by some photographers. “She must be famous”, I thought. Her appearance at London Fashion Week was a surprise for me and I was very pleased when I recognised Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. She looked pretty in her navy long sleeve dress with white straps by British couturier Bruce Oldfield. Camilla gave me a smile and I greeted her.

The Duchess met all designers showcasing during London Fashion Week. Everyone had a chance to present to her its inspirations and fashion designs for autumn/winter 2019. Caroline Rush, CEO of British Fashion Council, invited the Duchess to the fashion show of young designer Bethany Williams.

Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, awarded Bethany Williams after her catwalk, with the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design. The annual award is given to an emerging British Fashion designer who shows exceptional talent and originality, and demonstrate the value to the community and/or strong sustainable polices. The first recipient of the award, honoured from the Queen herself, was Richard Quinn.
